I’m Walter Schoen, the Serve Teams Pastor here at The Connecting Co! One of our core values here at TCCO is People Over Process and that is what makes all our serve teams so unique. We want to connect people to Jesus and each other by creating an environment where people feel at home, welcome and comfortable the very second you arrive at TCCO!
Whether you encounter a member of a serve team in the parking lot, at the front entrance, while grabbing a coffee or any other time during service, our hope is that every encounter helps prepare hearts to receive Jesus!
What Is A Serve Team
The Connecting Co won’t function without members of our Dream Team who give their time to help the church with the mission to connect people to Jesus and each other! These teams help run various operations on Sundays and throughout the week like helping in the parking lot, making sure the church is clean and ready for service, greeting everyone as they come in, helping serve the coffee and donuts or even a part of our safety team. All these opportunities exist for those 16 and older that want to help serve the Kingdom of God!
Why Serving Matters
Serving matters because the stakes are too high to not take it seriously. The joy, hope, peace, love, acceptance, belonging, value and purpose that people come to know when they accept Jesus into their heart can begin at the very first smile or greeting from a church volunteer.
Our flow
Once you have signed up to join a serve team (at the link below) and participated in the onboarding process you will be scheduled to help throughout the month. Each Sunday we ask that all Serve Team Members attend the Pre-Game Huddle which takes place 30 minutes before each service. We then ask for each volunteer to be at their position 15 minutes prior to the first service, engaged with the people you’re serving and stay until the first worship song is over!
